APOLLO

Greek God of poetry, music and prophecy, sun and light.

Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto and the brother to Artemis. A well known and loved Olympian God, he is depicted in art and literature almost as frequently as Zeus, King of the Gods.
Apollo embodies the Hellenic Platonic teaching of Kalokagathia; moral, spiritual and bodily virtue and is often percieved as the perfect example of male nude (kouros.)
His symbols: lyre, bow and arrow, sacrificial tripod.
